Nothing much to say here, as these videos speak for themselves. Today isn’t a special day but every so often I come back and listen to these videos. Both of these videos are two of my favorite videos available online and I thought I would share them with you.
The first one is a recording of Ted Kennedy giving a eulogy Robert Kennedy. It’s a very emotional eulogy, and the end is very moving. It is done with some really nice music and picture montage.
In the first video, Ted Kennedy is reciting a part of a speech Bobby gave. Here is more of that speech called “Mindless Menace of Violence”
I know you can simply search Google for a list of Dr. Seuss quotes, but here is a small list of some Dr. Seuss quotes that I particularly enjoy.
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
“I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Some come from ahead and some come from behind. But I’ve bought a big bat. I’m all ready you see. Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!”
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

One of the most challenging aspects about being a liberal Democrat and supporting a Republican candidate (Ron Paul) is not that when I tell my friends or family that I’m voting for a Republican they roll their nose and eyes at me, but that I’m subjected to all the other aspects of the Republican party and the rest of the candidates. Ignoring the fact that they are all pro-war, I am also “forced” to go to the various “family values” websites if I want to keep up on a certain debate or recent interview.
I’ve learned that people from the southern states really have this fear of homosexuals. I’ve always known that they don’t like them, but over the last few months I have realized that it goes much deeper than that. They seem to have a honest fear of them. Let me say that I do understand that most people interpret the Bible as saying that being a homosexual is a sin. While only a few lines say that two men together is an abomination (as is eating shellfish) , it doesn’t come out and say “being a homosexual is a sin!” That however is neither here nor there. It’s the fact that they actually want to enact federal laws that prohibit gays in the military or gay marriage. Where would it stop?
Back to my point, during several interviews and debates with various religious and other “family values” groups the question kept coming up asking, “What as president, would you do to stop the homosexual agenda in Washington?”
What exactly is the homosexual agenda?

As frightening as it is to say this, George W. Bush isn’t alone with his rank of being a horrible president. I thought it would be fun to look at some of our other presidents throughout history to demonstrate that we actually have a long history of bad presidents.
This list is a simple complication of various “worst presidents” lists I’ve come across. I looked at all the data that they provided, compared a few of the lists, and created my own (though they are similar to the others).
A few lists also included Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon. I purposely didn’t include those people because I really wanted to focus on older presidents. We know enough about those presidents.

I came across this video not to long ago. It’s pretty short but it gives you a little science lesson on the evolution of the Halibut (or the Flatfish). Interesting stuff.
Taken from the Wikipedia article on the Halibut
When the Halibut is born the eyes are on both sides of its head so it has to swim like a salmon. After about 6 months one eye will migrate to the other side of its head, making it look more like the flounder . This happens at the same time that the stationary eyed side begins to develop a blackish-grey pigment while the other side remains white. This disguises a halibut from above (blending with the ocean floor) and from below (blending into the light from the sky).
Let me start off by saying that I know I’m not going to win any awards blogging about how bad of a President George W. Bush is. Instead, I thought it would be fun to point out a funny coincidence.
I want to introduce this question, “Is our 43rd President totally at fault for his actions or is in genetic?”
Here, let me explain.

With a little over a month left before all my shows finally come back, I’ve been occupying my time by watching online documentaries. These are mostly commercial free versions of documentaries shown on the various channels which broadcast this type of content.
Here is a list of the some of the sites that I often use to find online documentaries.

For along time now, I’ve been a huge fan of John F. Kennedy. Every now and again when I’m in my car and I’m not in the mood for music or listening to the radio I pop in a CD I burned several years ago that consists of a variety of different JFK speeches. It’s nice listening to a President who can form complete sentences and actually sounds like he knows what he is talking about. It’s a nice change from what we’ve been dealing with for the last seven years.
One of my favorite speeches is a speech called The President and the Press that Kennedy made April 27th, 1961 to the American Newspaper Publishers Association. I’ve listen to this so many times I practically have it memorized. He talks about secret societies and not holding back secrets from the American public.
I highly recommend that you take the time out of your day to sit back and listen to this speech because I can assure you, if nothing else, that you will gain a new respect for him.

A user named Kasranov registered on my blog awhile ago and included a link to his blog in his profile. Always interested in who is registered on my blog, I went to check out his. I’m glad I did.
First off, if you’ve been following this blog at all you’ve probably noticed that I am a huge fan of Carl Sagan. Well Kasranov has taken the audio from Carl Sagan’s ‘Pale Blue Dot’ and put it into this awesome 40 minute documentary. I can only imagine the amount of time taken to make this.
So do yourself a favor and take 40 minutes out of your busy day, lean back in your chair and watch the video on his blog.

I recently watched an interview on YouTube between Larry David and Ricky Gervais (highly recommend it if you haven’t seen it) and they discuss using curse words in what they write. They both agreed that if used correctly it can actually enhance a script. If you live in America, they still ‘beep’ out swear words. Television stations think that my innocent ears could not bear to hear the word ’shit’, yet they believe if they say ’shi(part of the t) *beep*’ that somehow we have been protected and everything will be alright. I would love to be able to watch the Daily Show and not have some of the funniest parts beeped out. It should be my choice if I want my television to censor content or not.
In all of this, I find that the most interesting part about channels like Comedy Central, TNT, and so-forth is that they censor these words on a voluntary basis (network cable channels are outside of the FCC’s influence).
So, I thought it might be interesting to do a some quick research to figure out where these words actually came from.
