My Problem With John McCain

McCainBefore anyone jumps down my throat with the usual defense that John McCain was a POW who served bravely in Vietnam so he deserves more respect, please read the whole article before jumping to any conclusions.

First off, I am well aware that he was a prisoner of war, and gave a lot to this country. No one is arguing that, denying that or discounting that. He has given more to this country than I probably ever will. When he was given permission to leave early, he refused any special treatment. He has my respect for his service to his country, but beyond that he is just another politician says anything he can to get a vote. A liar is a liar.

People like to use his past as an excuse for his positions and actions now. When you criticize his position on Iraq the usual response is because he was a POW he knows what he is talking about. As much as you or he might want, his history cannot be used as a shield.

McCain is running on one one major platform (like Tancredo on immigration). He believes that we must continue the surge in Iraq. In a country were roughly 70% of the people want out of Iraq, McCain has this delusion that he can win with 30% of the vote. He likes to remind people that he was opposed to the first “plan” to go into Iraq, but since the plans have changed he is in full support of staying and occupying Iraq. He continually states Iraq is safer and that things are getting better. And of course he gets cheers from those white, mindless-drones who make up part of the republican party who have no concept of foreign policy and nod and clap when someone says war on terror.

Before I continue I would like to state that I used to like McCain. You remember when you used to like him to, don’t you? Back when he was more of a moderate republican and when he stood up against the evangelical Christians. He got soft, changed his position on several issues so that he could make a run at president and appeal more to his delusional party.

The bottom line is that McCain is a boldface liar. After he “attacks” someone at a debate (such as Ron Paul) he will have this childish smirk on his face as the person he attacks fires back. The impression on his face is almost that of embarrassment and he just puts on a stupid grin hoping no one got a whiff of his bullshit. After he called Ron Paul an isolationist and said that it was America’s isolationism that caused WWII to happen, he sat back, his face turned red because he knew what he said was wrong and he just said it to appeal to the people who might vote for him. That is the main reason I have such a distaste for him. He is fake.

He has the nerve to go on TV and claim he has talked to thousands of soldiers in Iraq who want to stay there and win. A simple Google/YouTube search will reveal quite the opposite. He has appointed himself as the spokesman for the soldiers in Iraq and from what I read online, many soldiers aren’t happy with that.

He claims that it is safe to walk down the streets of Iraq. Here, watch this.

McCain, thank you for you sacrifice and service to this country. We will never forget it. But it’s time to step down.

Lies, lies, lies, lies, lies. I AM SO SICK OF IT. Ron Paul has more donations from active duty US military members than anybody else! Does that send you a message Mr. McCain? Stop propogandizing us Mr. McCain! We don’t need your lies!
