Ron Paul’s Performace At Debates

Ron PaulI’m starting to get worried.

Let me start off saying I’m a huge Ron Paul supporter. This is intended not to be negative criticism but to be constructive criticism. Over the last several debates I’ve noticed Ron Paul’s performance slowly declining. He is struggling to get his point across as compared to the first few debates several months ago. I’ve probably seen almost every Ron Paul video available, listened to countless interviews and speeches and have read countless articles about Ron Paul. He has my vote. What he needs to focus on is gaining new support from people who might not know who he is or might still be on the fence about him.

A Moment of Immaturity

Do I need to say anything?

Quite the weatherman

Done laughing to yourself? You can now return the level of maturity to which you came.

Ron Paul In Chicago

This weekend was the Ron Paul rally here in Chicago. It was one of the biggest turnouts at a Ron Paul rally since the campaign started. While I don’t have the exact numbers, estimates are falling between the 1200-1400 mark. The most refreshing part of the whole experience was the diverse group of people who were there. One of the greatest things about this campaign is that it brings together all different types of people from all walks of life who support Ron Paul’s message of freedom and hope.

The Homosexual Agenda

Gay PrideOne of the most challenging aspects about being a liberal Democrat and supporting a Republican candidate (Ron Paul) is not that when I tell my friends or family that I’m voting for a Republican they roll their nose and eyes at me, but that I’m subjected to all the other aspects of the Republican party and the rest of the candidates. Ignoring the fact that they are all pro-war, I am also “forced” to go to the various “family values” websites if I want to keep up on a certain debate or recent interview.

I’ve learned that people from the southern states really have this fear of homosexuals. I’ve always known that they don’t like them, but over the last few months I have realized that it goes much deeper than that.  They seem to have a honest fear of them.  Let me say that I do understand that most people interpret the Bible as saying that being a homosexual is a sin. While only a few lines say that two men together is an abomination (as is eating shellfish) , it doesn’t come out and say “being a homosexual is a sin!” That however is neither here nor there. It’s the fact that they actually want to enact federal laws that prohibit gays in the military or gay marriage.  Where would it stop?

Back to my point, during several interviews and debates with various religious and other “family values” groups the question kept coming up asking, “What as president, would you do to stop the homosexual agenda in Washington?”

What exactly is the homosexual agenda?

Hopeful Parents

I was going through some old folders and I came across this Far Side comic that I found several years ago. If I recall this comic was dated somewhere between 1989 and 1990.

While it’s no question that most, if not all of all The Far Side comics are absolutely hilarious, I like this one in particular because I can relate it to my childhood (humorously, of course).

Top 10 Worst U.S. Presidents

Presidential SealAs frightening as it is to say this, George W. Bush isn’t alone with his rank of being a horrible president. I thought it would be fun to look at some of our other presidents throughout history to demonstrate that we actually have a long history of bad presidents.

This list is a simple complication of various “worst presidents” lists I’ve come across. I looked at all the data that they provided, compared a few of the lists, and created my own (though they are similar to the others).

A few lists also included Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon. I purposely didn’t include those people because I really wanted to focus on older presidents. We know enough about those presidents.

Ron Paul on The O’Reilly Factor

Ron PaulI have to admit that I was worried when I read that Ron Paul was going to be on the The O’Reilly Factor. Don’t mistake this as a sign of doubt about Ron Paul. It is no secret that Bill controls almost every interview, especially if he truly dislikes you, and will interrupt you while answering if what you’re saying is not to his liking.

The show started with a segment on General Petraeus and his report to Congress. He proclaimed that the security situation in Iraq has improved and we need to stay in until next year.

If You Can’t Beat Him, Laugh At Him

Ron PaulIt would appear that the Giuliani Campaign has shifted gears. First, instead of mentioning 9/11 in every answer, he decided to mention that he isn’t talking about 9/11 is almost every answer. His second shift in strategy is now to laugh at Ron Paul whenever a question was directed towards him.

If you watched the debate last night you can hear him laughing at Ron Paul during an answer, before a question was even asked, and even during the time when the question was being given. What kind of unprofessional garbage is this? This isn’t a debate to determine who will be the 9th grade class president. While it is hard to say who exactly laughed each time, it was obvious that Giuliani and Romney did.

Giuliani learned at the first debate that he cannot take on Ron Paul. Romney also knew better not to try. Last time Giuliani took on Ron Paul, he was shot down and it became apparent to the people watching that Giuliani is not as educated on several of the issues he campaigns on. So instead of being made a fool again by actually responding back to Ron Paul on matters that he didn’t agree with (like Huckabee did), he took the cowards way out and just laughed in the microphone.

Even during the debate, Fox News would occasionally throw up a split screen where you can see Giuliani with a huge idiotic smile on his face, licking his lips, and laughing. A very distinctive laugh if you’ve been following the presidential race over the last few months.

Ron Paul On His Religion And Homosexuality

Ron PaulRon Paul recently was interviewed by the fundamentalist, constitution-party-flag-waving The American View to discuss his personal faith, homosexuality and how it would translate into his actions as president.

(You can read the write-up here by the interviewer)

If you’ve been following the Ron Paul campaign, you probably have noticed that he has never really talked about his religious beliefs. Here is his response on that.

I have never been one who is comfortable talking about my faith in the political arena. In fact, the pandering that typically occurs in the election season I find to be distasteful. But for those who have asked, I freely confess that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior, and that I seek His guidance in all that I do.

A Horrible Decade: The 80’s

1980'sEvery so often I’m reminded of how horrible the 80’s actually were. I’m thankful that I was too young to remember much of 80’s (except of course, the cartoons).

Do you think I’m wrong? I know that there are a lot of people who rocked out to all the big hair bands, idolized Punky Brewster, called 867-5309 and wore leg warmers who will try to disagree with me. Let me remind you how bad they actually were with this little flashback.

Here is a clip from a movie called Teen Witch.

“Look how funky he is. I’ll never be hip.”

Do you agree with me now?
