I would be failing in my duties as a Ron Paul supporter if I wasn’t using my blog more to promote Ron Paul.
Here are some videos I recently came across. If you never heard of Ron Paul, check out his site at www.ronpaul2008.com. Though these videos will give you a really good understanding about Ron Paul and his views and ideas.
Here’s the usual attack on Ron Paul from the mainstream media. CNN tries to get the upper hand on Ron Paul, but each time he bats them back down. This video is dated mid May, though I only recently came across it.
Here’s Ron Paul at the 6/5/07 debate. This is a compilation of all his questions and answers.
Recently Ron Paul was invited to Google’s headquarters. Here is a video of it. It is quite long though, over an hour.
Lastly, here is a video that would be a good (but long) commercial for Ron Paul.

Being from Houston, I’ve read about Ron Paul for decades, and read many of Gary North’s books (he once worked for Paul) and various other things about the Austrian economics wing of Libertarianism.
I don’t agree with all of Paul’s views, but it’s sure refreshing to see someone finally bring up the obvious issues all swept under the rug BOTH by Republicans & Democrats AND by the major media, such as Congress’ responsibility to declare war, the limited Constitutional authority of the Federal government, and just plain voting NO for every budget until you get one that’s balanced.
One of my sons ran across Paul’s videos on YouTube and has gotten interested in him. Apart from Ron Paul, the entire 2008 set of candidates is pretty boring. I think I like Mike Huckabee, though it’s hard to believe we’d elect another governor from Arkansas, especially after having 3 Texans in the White House in the past 4 decades.
I think Newt Gingrich would be a very interesting candidate, if he ran, because he’d be a much more intelligent debater, though I’m concerned he may be too much of a Neo-Con, which I detest:
Two Basic Problems with the Republican Party
Many think Gingrich is convinced the Republicans are going to lose, and will therefore wait until 2012, figuring the Democrats can be counted on to mess things up and leave an opening, again, for a Republican.
I agree with you. I don’t support all of Ron Paul’s views. But while he is pro-life, for example, he doesn’t believe it should be imposed at a federal level.
That is what I like about him. Small government. Let the states decide what laws they want to enforce. That is how it’s supposed to be. For example, medical marijuana has been a big issue over the last few years. Regardless if you are a pro-marijuana or anti-marijuana, it should be up to the states to decide if it is illegal, not the federal government.
The 11 states that have legalized marijuana for medical purposes are constantly battling the federal government because of the federal law that overrides state law. It shouldn’t be that way. The people of those states have spoken. They elected the officials into office and those officials elected enacted laws that the people who voted them in wanted. If the people of a state choose to have some legal or illegal, the federal government should not be overriding that.
That is why I’m a huge Ron Paul supporter. Keep the government small. Stop policing the world. Stop getting involved with other countries quarrels. Keep the government out of the lives of the people. Don’t go off and start wars with the approval of Congress. FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION.
On top of all that, his views on our economy and our domestic and foreign policy. Is he the perfect candidate? No.. but I truely believe that he is a good man that only wants the best for this country. He need someone in office who we can look up to again. Someone that isn’t a embarrassment to this country. Someone who will restore this country’s dignity so we can start gaining respect again from the rest of the world.
