Top E3 Nintendo Wii Games

E3 Wii LogoAs E3 2007 winds down I though it might be nice to show what is coming in the months ahead for the Wii. Since the Wii’s release at the end of 2006, except for a few games, Wii’s lineup has been rather dry. I haven’t used my Wii in months. It stands in the shadow of my Xbox 360. It isn’t because I hate the Wii. I really like it. The fact of the matter it has been lacking in any decent games.

Luckly E3 has given us Wii owners some hope for the future.

METROID PRIME 3: CORRUPTION

Metroid 3

As always Metroid Prime 3: Corruption looks to be yet another awesome Metroid game. While the game has been pushed back this will allow the developers to spend more time developing and fixing the game up. This game could set the standard for controls in a FPS on next-gen consoles.

SUPER MARIO GALAXY

Mario Galaxy

I’ve been looking forward to this game since I heard about the Wii. I knew that with a new console we’d get a new Mario game. It has been a long time since we’ve seen a good Mario game. The one on Gamecube wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t the best. And after the horrible disappointment of Paper Mario, this game is going to give us some relief. We really haven’t had a great Mario game since N64.

First off the concept is awesome and different than anything we’ve seen before. The different gravitational pulls based on what planet your on will provide a little more of a challenge as you move throughout the game. Mario also has a new bee suit that allows him to fly for short periods of time. This game is looking like it can finally fill the void.

SUPER SMASH BROS. BRAWL

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
No surprise on this one either. From what I’ve seen so far, the improved graphics and the improved stages are going to prove this one to be a fan favorite. And best of all, it’s going to have an online mode. This has been one of the main focuses in the development of this game.

The game, however, doesn’t appear to take advantage of the Wii Remote. This is probably a good thing. I cannot imagine how they would do it with it. Don’t throw away or sell your old Gamecube controllers yet.

MARIO KART: WII
Mario Kart Wii

For me, this game is probably the most exciting of them all. The game is going to come with a wheel that allows you to pop in your Wiimote. Personally, I’m not sure how I feel about this. I knew it would use the tilting somehow. I think for it to work the actual wheel needs to have some sort of weight.

Again, it will have online play. After awhile single player Mario Kart can get old after you’ve played it a thousand times. Being able to pop online and play people will help the longevity of the game.

Here is the first look at the game and the steering wheel. Looks great.

Nice article. I am contemplating which gaming system to get PS3, Xbox360 or the Wii. The Wii is fun, I’m leaning towards the PS3.
