If you’ve been following the news for the last several months, you’ve probably heard about the Geek Squad and employees stealing data and porn off of customer’s computers. If you haven’t, head over to The Consumerist and catch up. I worked at Best Buy for several years, with the majority of them in the Geek Squad. I thought that I’d share my thoughts and experiences that I had with the Geek Squad and try to explain to you that, at one point, the Geek Squad was actually a good idea and a reputable company despite the “geek” gimmick.

Just a quick update on Ron Paul.
Today, Ron Paul received more votes in the Georgetown County (South Carolina) Republican Party presidential primary straw poll than did Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani and John McCain. Congressman Paul was second in the poll. Fred Thompson placed first. According to a press release issued today by Georgetown County Republican Chairman Tom Swatzel, there were 223 total votes cast. He said, “For our first ever straw poll, I am pleased with the turn out. It was an enthusiastic crowd that was the essence of grassroots politics at its best.”
Here is how the vote panned out:
Fred Thompson | 102 votes
Ron Paul | 40 votes
Mitt Romney | 37 votes
Duncan Hunter | 15 votes
Rudy Giuliani | 13 votes
John McCain | 7 votes
Sam Brownback | 6 votes
Newt Gingrich | 2 votes
Daniel Gilbert | 1 vote
While most expected Thompson to come in first, it was refreshing to see Ron Paul come in second place. Now with his first place under his belt from New Hampshire, let’s see how he does in Iowa next month.
Remember to visit www.ronpaul2008.com for more up to date information on Ron Paul.
I would be failing in my duties as a Ron Paul supporter if I wasn’t using my blog more to promote Ron Paul.
Here are some videos I recently came across. If you never heard of Ron Paul, check out his site at www.ronpaul2008.com. Though these videos will give you a really good understanding about Ron Paul and his views and ideas.
the audio from Carl Sagan’s ‘Pale Blue Dot’ and put it into this awesome 40 minute documentary. I can only imagine the amount of time taken to make this.
So do yourself a favor and take 40 minutes out of your busy day, lean back in your chair and watch the video on his blog.
I thought it would be interesting to focus the lesser known freeware applications that are available instead of just listing all the popular freeware applications (Firefox, SmartFTP, etc). I’ve tried to attach a screenshot with each program so you can get a feel about what the program does before downloading it.
Feel free to comment if you think I missed something and would like it added. Remember that the focus of this post is not to point out well known pieces of software but to focus on the lesser knowns.
For the last several months all we’ve heard about is impeachment. This all started when Dennis Kucinich introduced a bill to have Dick Cheney impeached. Let me say however that I’m all for removing Bush and Cheney. I hate them as much as you and the rest of the world. The problem is that the effort is “too little too late”.
Updated the site to be a little more friendly to the eye.
Working on AJAX comments (they were working before I went live with this.. sigh)
Here is just a quick post. If you use Firefox and Gmail I highly recommend getting this plugin. It’s called Better Gmail. It makes several enhancements to the Gmail interface.
This plugin is a compilation of over 30 scripts that change how Gmail works. My favorite part of the plugin is the skinning portion. If nothing else, enabling Gmail Air from the plugin’s options is worth it alone. Here is a screenshot.

Check out the website for Better Gmail to see what this plugin has to offer.
If you’re like me you’ve probably sat in your fair share of traffic jams. I make a daily commute and experience a varying degree of traffic patterns. On random days I can zip right home without any hitting any traffic or I’ll hit a wall of traffic causing me to be late getting home. Usually these are caused by someone getting pulled over or in some sort of accident
Today I want to focus focus on a common traffic jam caused by phantom accidents. You’ve probably experienced many of these without even realizing it. Let me explain to you what I mean.
I saw a post over on Digg.com regarding the worst tattoos ever. I thought it would be fun to find some really cool looking gaming tattoos. I headed over to Google Images and here are some that I found that I thought were rather interesting.
You can find a ton more by searching for them. I just really liked these 11.
