Not sure if anyone been following the Presidential 2008 race, but emerging on the Republican (yes, I said Republican) side is a congressman from Texas named Ron Paul. He has become a huge “hit” on the internet since his first GOP debate in early May. On May 15th he caused idiot Rudy Giuliani to start throwing out his “I was there on Sept. 11th” card when he said..
“They’re not attacking us because we’re rich and free, they’re attacking us because we’re over there.”
The reason why I like him is that he is consistant. If you know me, you obviously know that I’m pretty liberal. But something about this guy I really like. He is for small government, and allowing the states to deal with matters such as drug laws, marriage, abortion. He wants to elimate the IRS, income tax, and various other departments in Washington that do nothing except eat money.
Read about him on Wikipedia. While I doubt he’ll win, or even get the nomination, it is nice to know that not all the Republicans in Washington aren’t a bunch of lunatics.
